I had recently taken my son for his routine dental check for the first time with Dr Shruti and after examination, she had communicated that he has ‘tongue tie’ and discussed the effects and benefits of getting it released. Like all parents I was kind of sceptical and anxious about this. But, I was able to relate to all the effects tongue tie could have on him. She assured me about the process and explained all the details involved. We finally made a call to go ahead with the release. It was a piece of cake for her to interact with kids and make them feel safe with her using those dental tools. She asked me to prepare my son mentally days before the procedure as to what he can expect/experience. Finally, the day of the release was upon us and my son was actually ready to go to the clinic to meet Dr Shruti. She once again welcomed my son enthusiastically and explained to him what she was about to do and assured him that she will listen to him and pause at any moment if he was uncomfortable or it was in any way painful. All went well and I went in to see the result of the procedure and I could see my son happily make funny faces with his tongue out. She explained to me how the procedure went and how cooperative my son was. She then explained to me what all I could expect that day in terms of pain or discomfort at the area of the suture and so on and so forth. She also did follow up with me over WhatsApp as to how my son was doing that night and the following day and told me not to hesitate to contact her in case of any doubt whatsoever. We all are happy with the unrestricted tongue movement he has now. I would strongly recommend Dr Shruti for any paediatric dental needs.

Dr.Shruthi Jayasuriya was a Godsend at a time when I was struggling to latch and  breastfeed my son. We had our first consultation with Dr.Shruthi at the Birthhome, JP Nagar when my son was 4 weeks old.  Right away she put us at ease with her friendliness, competent diagnosis and detailed explanation of treatment prescribed. As a pediatric orthodontist and a Board certified lactation consultant, I feel that Dr.Shruthi understands both the art and science of breastfeeding.  She recommended craniosacral therapy and suck training exercises for my son's tongue tie restriction rather than immediately going ahead with a release procedure. At our next consult at 8 weeks, she suggested a frenectomy to enable direct feeding while adequately warning us of the post procedure stretches, recovery hurdles and other issues we might face. This helped us make an informed decision on going ahead with the procedure. The procedure itself was professionally done with a second consulting doctor and competent nurses at a hospital with adequate facilities. Dr.Shruthi was in touch with us on whatsapp after the procedure to ensure that we did the stretches and to check on any issues or concerns we might be having post procedure. At our 1 week and 3 week consults, she was very patient and detailed in her responses to our anxious queries. Today,  my son is 6 months old and I exclusively breastfed him from the time he was 2.5 months old! Apart from her professionalism, Dr.Shruthi is extremely punctual and we  have never had a wait time every time we have met her! Overall, I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pediatric orthodontist!

My baby boy was 2 months old when we were referred to Dr Shruti bg my LC. He had a moderate tongue tie. Shruti explained all about the tie and how it affects feeding process. She was very patient with all our questions and gave us time to decide if we want to get the tie released. She also explained about other alternatives like CST before going for a laser removal. I have consulted many other pediatric dentists after that for second opinion, but everyone said it is not necessary to remove the tie at 2 months. But since Shruti is an LC as well, we valued her opinion and went ahead for removal. The process was smooth. She explained the after procedure exercises as well and made sure we did thise regularly. After the procedure, she constantly followed with me on WhatsApp to check how the baby is doing. I can see a clear difference in his feeding pattern after 1-2 weeks of tie removal. Even after that, when baby had a thrush, she explained what to do to cure it very patiently on whatsapp. She is very friendly and approachable. Consultantion with her has completely changed our breastfeeding journey. My baby boy is 5 months old now and i have been exclusively breastfeeding since the Consultantion with her. She's an awesome Doctor and explained the issues in layman's terms to make us understand the severity and it's impact in future. We then went ahead with suggested treatment by her and my daughter hardly have any complaints around the damaged areas which got fixed.

My 7 year old kid was having dental issues for which Dr Shruti advised RCT in 3 sittings. We agreed and we even paid for PPE kit on first visit ***** ** ********* *** ******* ** ********* First sitting went well and she could complete RCT partially and planned to complete in second sitting. Second sitting didnt go well as my kid was too scared to get the procedure done. And Dr Shruti started prescribing the procedure to be done under general anaesthesia ******* *** **** for a day admission to which we did not agree. I visit Dr. Shruthi at Appollo rather frequently as both of my kids have rather persistent problems with their oral health and have needed treatments like tooth fillings, RCT and most recently even tooth extraction. Thanks to her efforts my kids oral health has improved. She is very friendly and my kids don't throw tantrums when we have to visit her.

Recently, my son's molar broke and had a crack in the remaining part that was intact. He was in pain and this happened during the weekend. Dr. Shruthi suggested medication to handle the situation till we were able to visit the clinic. When we did, it required tooth extraction. She enquired about the situation and if his exams were on and explained that it will be difficult for him for a couple of days and gave us an option if we wanted to postpone it until after his exams. I went forward with the procedure as he was in pain anyways. I even received a follow-up enquiry on his situation after a few hours of the procedure since it was paining after the local anesthesia effect wore off...

I haven't seen such a concern from any doctor. She has been the trusted dentist for my kids for over a year now!

I met Dr Shruti for tongue tie issuse of my baby . Her tongue stiffness was causing pain in feeding. She went conservative and not outright release of tongue tie. She advised oral exercises ,which were very helpful. While the problem still persisted to a certain extent after that, she did not push us for the surgery and advised us to give baby time. Post few weeks I began to see changes in feeding. Now it was not an activity that I dreaded while intellectually being convinced about the benefits of breast feeding. It was a very stressful time and doctor shruti was very empathetic. Though it was not what we met her for , she guided me to fix my latch , a technique called flipple , which was of great help. I wish medical field gets more doctor like her.

Dr. Shruti is my child’s paediatric dentist. She is honest, compassionate with outstanding communication skills. We recently visited her to remove abscess and extract the impacted tooth for my child. She explained the process clearly over phone and helped me prep my 6.5 yr old daughter well. We have been impressed with her ability to diagnose, recommend right treatment solutions to avoid further escalations. Most importantly, she has a knack to create a very positive, stress-free experience for both kids and parents alike. I’m glad to write this recommendation and we will surely visit her in the future.

Dr Shruti was referred to us by Dr Aruna for tie release for our infant son . She was very meticulous in checking the ties for our son and advised us the procedure with no pressure at all for us to undergo the same . We met Dr. Shruti Jayasurya for the functional oral assessment of my one month old's tongue and lip ties and to discuss a frenectomy. She patiently explained the impact of his ties and what the procedure would do. She detailed the advantages and risks of the procedure and helped us in setting appropriate expectations regarding the time it might take to see the results of the procedure.
